One downside to wading through streams all day is ZOMBIE FOOT! The first time you pull off your boots to find your feet not only as wrinkled as a mountain range, slightly dissolved and sqidgey in texture, but a disconcerting grey-ish white all over. After half an hour or so of little colour change you start to wonder if something terrible has occurred, but slowly slowly you can nurse them back to a pinkish beige colour with the help of some warm dry socks and a log fire. Just be careful not to pull off too much skin with your socks on first removal!
