We were heading over to climb that spiky headland in the distance. Looks kind of menacing huh? By the time we got there the mist had set in and the light was dimming. The drizzle had started, but it was keeping us cool as we climbed up through the steep forest. It felt very atmospheric picking through the rooted, fern covered, track of this sacred Maori mountain.
Here’s me on the easy grassy bit before the mist drew in. We had lunch up on a picnic bench. Jam sandwiches. It’s amazing where people will carry a picnic bench to!
