Hot hot sand this is, even on a cloudy day. Been wondering why it’s not covered in tourists! It’s deserted. Save the crashing greenie black water it’s totally silent. No birds even. Very odd atmosphere here. Creepy almost.
The black sand twinkling underfoot, warm around our boots, we set off into the monochrome landscape, under the erie grey light of the sky.
I was not familiar with ‘black’ sand, but I can tell you it’s a right bugger to walk on.. Maybe it’s just because the tide was in, but we couldn’t find much firm ground to make fast progress on, all this bloody driftwood didn’t help either ;)
