Red Hills Hut became our home for the evening. Too knackered to walk another step, we didn’t even have the energy to fight off the in-house weka. Double glazing, nice, insect mesh, nice, but still, something was lacking in this chunky safe abode. Some sparkle of guts and endeavor that was oozing out of Porters was just absent here. But very thankful for a roof over our heads, and shiny new mattresses we tucked up in bed. The first night sans-fire for a while, it was nippy but we didn’t care. Tomorrow was anothzzzzzzzzzz
