Behind the behemoth was concealed an equally mean and sharp looking ‘brother mountain’, Mt. Castor. Since, I’ve read that the two main stars within the Gemini constellation represent twin brothers Pollux and Castor – from Greek mythology (?).
Yep you’re right Nicky, they were ‘hero twins’ sons of Leda by Zeus. Charlie Douglas who named all the mountains round here was a big fan of the classics it seems (there was information about him in the hut). I love that the only mountain not to bare a classical name is Mt Betsy Jane, which he named after his dog :)
