We were really lucky to be able to borrow this Beach House for a couple of nights after our long walk down the beach. We were well in need of a rest day and it was fantastic to have a kitchen to cook up a proper meal with fresh ingredients. We eat dehydrated food on trail so I’m often fantasizing about being able to tuck into a salad or a big juicy orange!
Had a nice rest day here in Waipu Cove. Quite a good little hiker town this – campsite, motel, shop, restaurant (awesome pizza) and sandy beach all within spitting distance of each other. And of course this awesome house to stay in :)The real treat here was the TV. We had the movie channel! And managed to get through Surrogates, The International, and Australia along with a couple of rum and lime cocktails. Excellent! It absolutely chucked it down with rain that night, battering through the roof it was, so we were super thankful of a roof over our heads, and not to be huddled up in a soggy tent :)
