For a moment there when we came round the corner I thought our Te Araroa trail was leading us up this monkey assault course. I wouldn’t put it past it. It takes us weirder routes than a sat-nav sometimes. I’m not brilliant with heights… But I guess I need to get a grip on that in time for some big mountains coming up in the South Island eh! I’d almost plucked up the courage … when we decided we should probably get a move on … Ahhh next time
We were a bit confused when trail markers sent us through the grounds of Gear Homestead, the historic house/zombie film set.. And even more confused when on the other side we came across this sight – “This isn’t part of the Te Araroa is it?” says Nicky! I’ve done this sort of thing before on a stag do, brilliant fun. Regret now not giving it a go, but it came as a bit of a surprise so weren’t really in the mood for it.
It’s called ‘Adrenalin Forest’, apparently set up by a Frenchman who must have gotten bored… great fun (love the idea of doing this for a stag do – can’t think of a better thing to do half cut!). Great website btw, love the stories. Will have a crack at Te Araroa sometime soon!
