Lovely friendly locals and landlord in the pub in Shannon! We got a tour of the place by one of the locals, including chasing some wild rabbits in the beer garden. We got a bit of history of the railway, and a tip off that the girls we’ve been chasing along the trail might not be too far away! By the look of the paper they’re a lot more productive on their rest days than Cookie and I. But then I imagine we’ve had more time to allocate towards beer drinking eh ;)
We enquired at the first pub –
‘Club Hotel’ as to wether they were still a hotel, many aren’t. They were, so after securing lodgings for a ridiculously cheap $30 (stayed at campsites more expensive!), we headed back to the bar for beverages. After explaining our story to all the inquisitive locals, who all seemed strangely well informed about our trail. Turns out the girls
