Stopping for some sustenance by the side of the road we were surprised to find a waterfall and a small deep lake. Cookie had fun I think hurling himself across but I went by the tarmac behind ;) After a few minutes a local parked up stripped off and dived in! He couldn’t believe we’d not been in for a dip! But it did make a great spot for a snooze… and to give my legs a quick once over with the razor haha! :)
The road we were walking along was called Falls Road, so I suppose we should of expected it! Lovely spot though :)

The shots from this section have been interesting to edit and put together, we now have 3 monster cameras (Canon 5D x2, plus Nikon D3s) capturing the action from every angle. This means I have 3 times as many photos to wade through when making the final selection for the blog (hence recent delays..), but it does mean we caught a lot of ‘action’ that sometimes gets missed. Looking over this section the thing that stands out is stream jumping shots, we took a shit load! This is the first, but won’t be the last :)
Woh! Check out those moves! There’s some spectacular leaps going on here. I’d have been wading a few of these for sure ;) Bbrrrrr. Impressive skills boys!
Some unbelievable stream leaping moves from Super Cookie today. How he manages to jump these gaps I have no idea! I just take one look at it, shake my head and jump in. Wading is the safest way for stubby-legs ‘ere!
I don’t mind getting boots wet at the end of the day, but I try to avoid it at all costs first thing in the morning. I was the only one wanting dry boots enough to attempt this jump!
WooooHoooo! We made it, finally, all the way to Bluff! The most southerly point in New Zealand. 3000 kilometres stomped, scrambled, plodded, tiptoed, scampered, leapt, crawled, skipped, climbed and walked on foot ( pretty much ;) ) across an entire country. Crazy! Looney, some might say. But what an amazing journey. I can’t quite believe we’re here. That we made it, that I made it. Woh. Seems impossible! And yet here we are :D
We’re a bit behind on the bloggin’, it’s going to take us a few days to catch up and fill in the gaps.. But just wanted to let you know we made it to Bluff and finished our walk across New Zealand!!!
